In Memoriam

Jack Trask

Jack Trask

We regret to announce that Jack Trask passed away at about 10.30pm on Tuesday 3rd February 2009 at the John Fawkner Private Hospital. Jack was a very popular presenter at 96.5 Inner FM and had been a member of our station since June 1991.

Jack attended St Bernard's Christian Brothers College in Essendon. In his young days he was a professional bike rider and played football with the YCW until into his 30's. At one stage in his working career Jack was the youngest Commonwealth Bank manager in Victoria. Jack had been retired since 1988. Jack and his wife Leonie were married for 57 years and had five children, ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Diana Trask, one of Australia's top singers, was Jack's cousin.

Jack had been with 96.5 Inner FM and hosted "Top Hat, White Tie & Tails" jointly with Bill Gosstray for 905 performances. Their popular nostalgia program was heard on Thursdays at 11am. Jack also hosted his own nostalgia program "Jack's Tracks" for over 10 years which was heard on Tuesdays at 11am.

We would like to extend our sincere sympathies to Leonie and the family, including our Kevin Trask (Jack's brother) and Bill Gosstray (Jack's long time on-air partner and brother-in-law), at this very sad time.
