Struan entered the fine halls of Inner FM as part of the technical crew in the last quarter of 2005, assisting in the fault finding of the Inner FM studios.

During his time prior to Inner FM, he studied IT Business Management and was once a student of the JMC Academy, where he received a Certificate IV in Audio Engineering and Production. Struan has also had a long history in community theatre from 2003 including his time as a member of the Heidelberg production "The Castle" in November 2004 plus an odd stint at acting in the Heidelberg youth production "The Crucible" in May 2005.
