Bill joined the station in 2001 through friendship with the late Marj Shattock whom he replaced as one of the presenters of "Morning Concert" and "Concert Hall" after Marj's unfortunate death. She once joked to Bill "the only way you get a gig on this station is when someone dies"!
Since 2002, Bill has been something of a "jack of all trades" as he continued to present both "Morning Concert" and "Concert Hall", as well as having an eighteen month spell on "Nice & Easy". During that time he acted for three years as Treasurer of the radio station.
More recently Bill was asked to develop a "news, review, interview" program centred on the Melbourne entertainment scene. With the help of John Abrahams, he established "Billboard", which went to air initially on Thursday afternoons and later on Tuesday evenings. Bill now keeps busy presenting "Music of Stage & Screen" with Max Waugh on Thursdays at 9pm and "Morning Concert" on Fridays at 11am.
Other activities that keep Bill occupied since retiring from teaching are driving in the Leukaemia Foundation's Patient Transport Scheme, team managing the Northern Bullants in the VFL, and keeping Tricia happy.
