Monday’s 2-4pm
Roger Watson
Roger Watson plays music you may know, but hear it again from the perspective of a professional musician.
Roger plays his favourite tracks and adds a bit of spice and humour!
The first half hour of the show is often swing jazz from his early time playing drums in restaurant bands and when he played in the family band The Watson’s.
The Watson’s appeared on The Parkinson Show, Mike Walsh and mainly played 40’s swing.
Then Roger gets into 2nd gear and plays requests from listeners that are often hits from the 70’s & 80’s. No Country, Rap or Auto tune is permitted here (says Roger).
The last hour gets through 3rd and 4th gear which could include those “super groups” of the 70’s such as Jethro Tull, Led Zeppelin, Dire Straits, Deep Purple and Santana. While also throwing in some blues from artists like Joe Bonamassa and Gary Moore.
“I love to get texts from listeners and enjoy the banter that it creates”, says Roger Watson.
