Rob Morrison’s next Musical Theatre Melodies broadcast on Tuesday, 15th October will feature a 70th anniversary tribute to the the Broadway musical version of Sir James M. Barrie’s Peter Pan (with music by Mark Charlap and lyrics by Carolyn Leigh; additional music by Jule Styne with additional lyrics by Betty Comden and Adolph Green), from the 1954 original Broadway cast recording starring Mary Martin and Cyril Ritchard, with Kathy Nolan, Margalo Gillmore, Joe E. Marks, Sondra Lee, Robert Harington and Joseph Stafford.

This will be preceded by an interview with original cast member – Sondra Lee who will share her memories of the production (in which she played the role of ‘Tiger Lily’) and other aspects of her performing career.

The programme will conclude with a selection of songs written for other productions of Peter Pan, including those by John Crook for the original 1904 play, Leomard Bernstein for the 1950 Broadway revival, and Sammy Fain and Sammy Cahn for the 1953 Walt Disney animated feature film.

The broadcast will commence at 9 p.m. AEDT.
