The Committee of Management and presenters of 96.5 Inner FM would like to pay tribute to the late Allan Woods and to extend their condolences to the Woods family.
Inner FM would like to thank Allan for his years of being a loyal supporter of our radio station and also extend our gratitude to his family for their generosity in requesting that donations be made to Inner FM in tribute to Allan’s memory in lieu of flowers.
Allan passed on at the grand age of 103 years on New Year’s day (just short of his 104th birthday), and together with his late wife Jessie, was an avid listener to Inner FM over the past decades.
Allan had played for the VFL club Essendon reserves before he enlisted in the Australian Army for WW2 and had gained the distinction of being the longest surviving Essendon footballer.
The Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Allan Woods, will be held in the Joyce Chapel at Fawkner Memorial Park, 1187 Sydney Rd, Fawkner on Tuesday 13th Jan 2026, at 11:45am.
