Australian radio has increased its audience to 81% of the population and is the number one choice for in-car listening, according to Infinite Dial 2024 Australia.

In a recent report, radio has been announced as the top choice of audio in the car, with 88% of Australians tuning in between their commutes.

Australian radio’s reach has become five times larger than ad-supported music streaming such as Spotify, and listenership between people aged 25-54 has more than doubled in the past three years.

In-car consumption is also on the rise; growing by 75% within the last two years.

With smart speaker ownership multiplying in the past four years, audiences are embracing and experiencing new ways of tuning into the radio.

With more ways than ever to listen to the radio, the industry remains a predominant source of music, entertainment and news for many Australians.
